                                  Off axis guiders

Lumicon Cassegrain easy guider

One of the most powerful astrophotography accessories on the market today, greatly extending the photographic capabilities of your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

The sturdy Cassegrain Easy-Guider features a unique, patented, radial adjustment for finding bright, off-axis guide-stars. The Lumicon Cassegrain Easy-Guider also includes rotational adjustments, along with a large off-axis prism, both of which combine to simplify guide-star selection. The multi-coated, 50mm focal reducing lens yields 100% edge-to-edge field illumination, high-contrast, and pinpoint star images across a 35mm frame. The reducing lens in its standard position provides a 0.65 reduction (F/10 optics become F/6.5). It can also be moved farther from the camera, yielding an approximate F/5 ratio. Exposure times with the Lumicon Cassegrain Easy-Guider are thus 2 to 4 times shorter, and the image size is correspondingly reduced.

Note: The following accessories are required for photography: A prism diagonal; a guiding eyepiece (or auto-guider); and a camera-specific T-ring. These may be user-supplied, or purchased separately. See accessaries below

Available for the following telescopes.

Celestron 5" SCT

7" to 9.25" Cassegrains

7" to 9.25" Cassegrains with 2" barrel instead of SCT screw thread

Giant easy guider for Celestron 11" to 14" SCT

Giant easy guider for Meade 10" and 12" SCT

Lumicon easy guider for Newtonian and Refracting telescopes

The low-profile Lumicon 2in & 1.25" Newtonian/Refractor Easy-Guider is one of the most powerful astrophotography accessories available today. The Lumicon Newtonian Easy-Guider incorporates a unique, patented, radial adjustment for finding bright, off-axis guide-stars. It also features rotational adjustment, along with a large pick-off prism, both of which help to make bright guide-star selection a breeze. The LG1015 drops into 2" eyepiece holders, and uses your telescope's optics directly for pinpoint guiding accuracy. This method is superior to using guide-scopes, which can flex with respect to your main telescope. The filter compartment is located past the pick-off prism, on the camera side of the Lumicon Easy-Guider. This allows you to guide with unfiltered starlight.  The compact design of the Lumicon Newtonian/Refractor Easy-Guider allows for installation in seconds. The 2" Newtonian/Refractor Easy-Guider requires 0.85" of "back-focus .

Notes: For use with SLR cameras; digital imagers may require an extension piece. The following accessories are required for photography: A guiding (reticle) eyepiece (or auto-guider) and a camera-specific T-ring. See accessaries below

Lumicon 12mm illuminator eyepiece

The Lumicon 12.5mm Orthoscopic Eyepiece with Illuminated Reticule is a state-of-the-art guiding eyepiece, featuring rheostat brightness control and on/off switch. The cross-hairs are fully focusable for precision guiding. Black anodised to prevent light reflection.

Lumicon Coma Corrector

Dramatically reduces coma (flared star images) in f/3.5 to f/6 Newtonian telescopes. Optimised for photographic use, it may also be used visually.
The Lumicon Coma Corrector is an afocal, or 'zero-power' air-spaced doublet lens system and is fully multi-coated on all 4 surfaces to prevent ghosting. The aluminum cell's 48mm (2") threads can be used on all 48mm threaded accessories.
