Lumicon Polarizers

 

Variable & Single Polarizing Filter, is the all-phase lunar filter for large telescopes. Transmittance is continuously variable from about 5% to 35% & the single filter reduces its intensity by a factor of about 3.  Lumicon Polarizing Filters are made from renowned Schott- Hoya optical glass and allow for maximum contrast of lunar detail. Lumicon Oxygen III Filters

 

OIII narrow band-pass filter isolates two doubly ionised oxygen lines (496 and 501nm lines) emitted by diffuse, planetary and extremely faint nebulae. These faint objects become much more visible against the blackened background of space.

Lumicon Ultra High Contrast (UHC) Filters

 

The ULTIMATE nebula filter. The original Lumicon UHC filter is unbeatable for revealing nebulosity. This is achieved by passing three nebula emission lines-the two doubly ionised oxygen lines (496 and 501nm) and the H-beta line (486nm)-while blocking light-pollution and Sky Glow.

Lumicon Deep Sky Filters

 

Blocks all high & low pressure mercury and sodium vapour lamp light, neon lights and airglow, while transmitting the rest of the visible spectrum. Visually, the Deep Sky Filter enhances contrast of nebula under both light-polluted and dark skies.  The Deep Sky Filter also passes infrared light, making it an excellent filter for photographing deep space objects through light-polluted skies.

Lumicon Hydrogen Beta Filters

 

The Lumicon Cassegrain Hydrogen-Beta Filter isolates only the hydrogen-beta line of the spectrum (486nm) in a narrow pass-band just 9 nm wide, providing maximum contrast. Now you can view extremely faint nebulous objects such as the Horsehead, Cocoon and California Nebulae.

Recommended for telescopes 12" and larger.

Lumicon Comet Filters

 

A narrow band-pass filter (25nm), isolates the 501nm OIII line and both C2 lines at 511nm and 514nm. The high contrast of the filter reveals the delicate ionised tail of gaseous comets, allowing you to see their full extent. The Comet Filter also helps you to better distinguish gaseous comets from dusty comets, which normally show little contrast gain.
